By translating each person's behavioural tendencies into simple visual patterns, teams gain a clearer picture of how they show up together—what drives them, what slows them down, and how they can support one another more effectively.
Grounded in well-established behavioural psychology, My Group Lens offers a practical, no-nonsense approach to reducing conflict, improving communication, and strengthening team performance. Whether you're starting a new project, joining a new group, or navigating everyday collaboration, My Group Lens helps teams work with greater awareness, confidence, and shared understanding.

My Group Lens is informed by established ideas in behavioural psychology, including how people tend to focus attention, make decisions, interact with others, and respond under pressure. Rather than placing people into rigid personality boxes, My Group Lens uses placements and behavioural combinations to build a more nuanced picture of how people contribute in a team setting.
To make team patterns easier to understand, My Group Lens groups behaviour into four broad orientations.
Careful, thoughtful, and evidence-focused. Often brings depth, structure, and critical thinking.
Expressive, imaginative, and possibility-focused. Often brings energy, ideas, and fresh perspective.
Steady, considerate, and relationship-aware. Often brings dependability, empathy, and cohesion.
Direct, action-oriented, and decisive. Often brings pace, clarity, and forward movement.
These are not fixed boxes. Most people draw on more than one orientation, with some showing up more naturally than others depending on the context.
My Group Lens is built on the idea that behaviour is rarely one-dimensional. A person may have a natural orientation, a secondary pattern that supports it, an adaptive pattern that appears when needed, and a less visible pattern that sits more in the background. This creates a richer picture than a single fixed label and makes team-level analysis more meaningful.
The default way a person tends to show up — the behaviours that feel most instinctive and consistent.
A supporting tendency that complements the natural orientation and adds range.
The pattern that steps forward when the situation demands greater flexibility or a shift in approach.
A less visible tendency that typically sits in the background and rarely takes centre stage.
Some behavioural tendencies are deliberate and easy to access. Others are less visible and may emerge more strongly under pressure, uncertainty, or prolonged challenge. My Group Lens therefore looks at both conscious and less conscious expression.
Reflects the behaviours a person uses more intentionally and consistently.
Reflects the behaviours that may surface when a person is stretched, adapting, or under strain.
This helps teams understand not only how people prefer to work, but also where blind spots, friction, and overused patterns may appear.
To make behavioural insights easier to understand and apply, My Group Lens connects recurring behavioural patterns to original archetypes. These archetypes are not fixed personality labels. They are practical and memorable representations that help teams talk more clearly about strengths, communication patterns, and development areas.
